The Island

Stuart Wood Island located in Moat Lake, part of Strathcona Provincial Park Forbiden Plateau. This 13 acre island has two cabins for you to enjoy. One cabin has enough room for four, the other cabin has room for six. There is a natural swimming pond on the island, warmed from the sun overhead.

How to get there

Moat Lake is 12 km hike from Mt. Washington on a well marked trail, the Island can also be reached by Helicopter. Follow trail from Raven Lodge to Lake Helen Mackenzie  3 km,  then 3.6 km to Hair Trigger lake which is a nice spot for lunch, then another 3 km to circlet lake. Whats Included

Big Cabin: Generator, Fridge, Propane stove, Fisher stove, sleeps six
Point Cabin: Fisher stove, sleeps four
Both Cabins include use of Fishing Rods, Paddle boat, row boat, 2hp power boat

Mountain climbing: includes nearby Castle Crag, Mt. Frink, Mt Albert Edward
Hiking: Snow caves, Hidden Valley, Lac la Norm
Fishing:Kamloops Rainbow Trout, stocked in 1931
Wildlife watching: Eagles, Whiskey Jacks, Osprey, Hawks,
Deer and Bears
Boating: power(2hp), row and paddle
